How to open MCU2 on model 3:

strip down plastic parts to provide access to mcu 



use an air bag to lift slightly the cover panel





unscrew the bolts fixing the glovebox

unclip the interior trim clips on the lower cover panel
and remove the panel


unclip the interior trim clips on the lower cover
panel and remove the panel

unscrew the bolts fixing the AIR BAG

disconnect the battery before removing the air bag!

unscrew the bolts and remove the glovebox




now, the tesla model 3 autopilot mount holder

we don't unscrew the nuts, just loose them



autopilot modem 2.5 can be dismount without 
stripping down the cover

mcu circuit board is right under the cover

remove the MCU cover

unscrew the bolts fixing the modem and remove 
the circuit board



remove the MCU cover


unscrew the MCU circuit board

autopilot 3 is a bit different from 2.5 autopilot

we don't have to unscrew the front bolts to push is aside

here we have an easy access to the bolts

Every ice board is protected by tesla so that it can be changed in future.
Some ice board have variation 1, some have variation 2
Some have both

If they have it, you have modify them all
Whichever one it has

If you modify it, tesla cannot change the config
Even after any update

to make new config you need to make changes

press File open button


press Search and Find button

hex values search for and copy paste value


press button search and replace

hex values search for and replace with

replaced

press save button

see before and after values

then you need to open this dump with your programmer
and write it back with your programmer

 

forget about secured config for a while
secured config can't be done by replacing gataway chip
 
wait for a new solution can bus
using a device on can bus it will be possible
activate supercharge if Tesla disabled it
